Floor tiles around the memorial contain the names of the places where Austrian Jews were killed during Nazi tyranny.
The core of the Judenplatz Museum Vienna, which is operated by the Jewish Museum of the City of Vienna, is made up of showrooms on mediaeval Jewry in Vienna, a virtual tour through 14th century Vienna and the excavations of the mediaeval synagogue. On display are the religious, cultural and social living conditions of Viennese Jews in the Middles Ages up until their expulsion and annihilation in 1420/21, the so-called "Vienna Gesera". Changing exhibitions are held on the ground floor.
