With the “a_schau,“ the Architecture Center Vienna continues the comprehensive documentation of Austrian Architecture of the Twentieth Century into the present.
While the first exhibition stage was devoted to the protagonists of the early modern era, and the second stage to the time span between 1918 and 1955, the third exhibition phase centers on important urban planning and architectural questions of the second half of the twentieth century.
Important topics and building of the modern postwar era are exhibited together with visionary designs of the 1960s. The era of architectural awakenings is the basis for the different lines of development of the 1970s and 1980s, a time during which the different Austrian provinces also increasingly made their marks. In front of this backdrop the “a_schau” continues the historic art into the present time.
